About Vinyl Labels

Vinyl labels are for products that live a harder life than a paper label expects. Think of a body wash bottle that sits in the shower, a cleaning spray that gets wiped down, a jar of scrub handled with damp fingers, or a tool case that rattles around a truck bed. Small brands, makers and facility managers order them because the label is a plastic film instead of paper, which changes how it behaves when the item is squeezed, bent or cleaned.

Where vinyl labels usually end up

  • Shampoo, lotion and soap bottles in bathrooms and salons
  • Cleaning products, sprays and refill containers
  • Craft drinks and sauces that go in and out of the fridge
  • Inventory and asset labels on tools, bins and equipment
  • Reusable tumblers, lunch containers and gear sold at markets

Conditions vary a lot between these uses, so describe yours when you ask for a quote. Mention water exposure, chilling or outdoor storage, and the team can advise before you commit.

Vinyl or paper for your product

Paper has a natural, textured feel that suits dry goods, bakery bags and gift tags on string. Vinyl is usually the better match for plastic or glass containers that get handled constantly. If your range includes both, you can order vinyl for the wet products and paper labels for the dry ones while keeping the same artwork style. A gloss finish gives colors more depth on a bottle, and matte cuts glare under bright retail lighting.

Formats, shapes and product variants

Choose from rectangular, square, round and die-cut vinyl labels, or give us exact dimensions for a container that does not fit a standard size. Measure the flat or gently curved panel where the label goes and leave a small margin from seams and edges. If you apply labels by hand in large batches, ask about labels on rolls; if you sell at markets or run several scents in small numbers, sheets may be easier.

Most product lines need more than one design. List every variant with its quantity, send the artwork files, and our designers will review each one. You will receive a PDF proof for approval, and nothing goes to press until you confirm it.

FAQs

Vinyl Labels questions, answered

When should I choose vinyl labels instead of paper labels?

Vinyl is a plastic film, so customers tend to pick it for items that get squeezed, wiped down or kept near sinks and showers. Paper suits dry goods, envelopes and short-lived packaging. If you are unsure, describe how the product is stored and used, and the team will talk through the choice with you.

Can I order several scent or flavor versions of the same vinyl label?

Yes. Many product lines keep one layout and change only the name, color band or ingredient list. Send each version as its own artwork file, list the quantity you need of each, and say which elements stay identical so the proofs can be checked side by side.

Are vinyl labels a good fit for squeeze bottles?

Plenty of customers use vinyl labels on squeezable shampoo, lotion and sauce bottles because the film is plastic rather than paper. Tell us the bottle material and how the product is used day to day, and the team will advise on the label before you commit to an order.

Should my vinyl labels come on rolls or sheets?

Rolls are handy if you apply labels by hand in large batches or use a label dispenser, as each label peels off in sequence. Sheets work well for smaller runs, craft fairs and mixed designs. Mention your application method in the quote request and we will suggest a format.

I have been looking for a company that could provide quality water proof labels for a very long time. I stumbled across Print Design & Tech R US LTD via Google searching, last year October 2024. Since then I have used them another 3 times and we will continue to do so. Olivia and her team are fantastic, from the proofing, making a phone call to ensure the correct information. The quality of the labels are just what we have been looking for. Keep up the great work Ken
