Getting contrast right on a metallic surface

Gold reflects light, so text that looks fine on a monitor can disappear at certain angles. Black, navy, deep burgundy and dark brown usually read well on gold; pale colors and thin script fonts are harder. Keep fine print to a comfortable size, avoid placing small text over busy textures, and print a test at actual size to check it under the lighting where the item will be displayed.
