Shapes and surfaces that suit foil

Round and oval foiled labels work as seals across the join of a lid or the flap of an envelope. Rectangles fit the front of a bottle or tin, and die-cut shapes let a crest or emblem stand alone. Foil looks most refined on smooth surfaces such as glass, coated card and tins; on heavily textured kraft paper the effect changes, so mention the surface in your request.
