About Custom Labels
This is the general home for labels that do not fit neatly into a single industry. A bakery sealing takeout bags, a warehouse marking shelf locations, a craft brewer numbering limited releases and a school office organizing supply cupboards all start here. The label itself can be round, square, rectangular or cut to a custom outline, and it is printed to the size you specify rather than picked from a fixed list.
Start with the job the label has to do
The right choice depends far more on the job than on the design. Ask yourself which of these describes your order:
- Branding on a product or bag, where color and shape carry the look.
- Information such as contents, directions or contact details, where legibility comes first.
- Organization of bins, shelves, cables or files, where consistent sizing and clear numbering matter.
- Promotion for launches, events or seasonal offers, where a limited run of a special design is common.
Knowing the job helps us suggest a sensible material and size when we review your request.
Material and finish at a glance
Paper labels print crisply and a matte paper surface is generally easy to write on, which makes it handy for dated or filled-in labels; see our paper labels for details. Vinyl is the usual pick for items that get handled or wiped. Clear film lets the surface show through, gold, silver and foiled labels add a metallic look, and fluorescent stock is chosen when a label needs to be noticed from across a room. Gloss or matte can be requested on most jobs. If the labels will go outdoors or near water, say so in your request and we will discuss options with you.
Rolls, sheets and multiple designs
Labels applied by hand in small batches are often easiest on sheets, while higher volumes or labeling machines usually call for rolls; our roll stickers page explains that format. If you need several versions, such as different flavors, sizes or location codes, list each design with its quantity. Then send the dimensions, shape, total count, surface and artwork through the quote form. Our team reviews the file free of charge, emails a PDF proof, and prints only after you approve it.
Custom Labels questions, answered
What are general custom labels most often used for?
Product branding, jar and bottle labels, shelf and bin identification, event giveaways, return address labels and seasonal promotions. If your label has a specific use such as food, candles or warnings, the dedicated category pages go deeper, but any of those jobs can also be requested from here.
How do I pick a label size when I have no template?
Measure the flat area of the item where the label will sit and subtract a small margin from each edge. Cut a piece of paper to that size, write your main text on it and tape it in place. If it looks crowded or hard to read, adjust the dimensions before finalizing artwork.
Can one order include labels for different products or locations?
Yes. Many orders include several designs, such as one label per flavor or one per aisle. List each design, its size and the quantity you need, and name your files to match that list so nothing gets mixed up during the artwork review.
Should I choose paper or vinyl for my custom labels?
Paper suits indoor, dry uses and labels you want to write on, such as dated storage labels or envelope seals. Vinyl is the usual choice for items that get handled, wiped or kept in damp rooms. Describe where the labels will be used and we will recommend one.

What Our Customers Say
Real reviews, quoted exactly as published on ProvenExpert.
I have been looking for a company that could provide quality water proof labels for a very long time. I stumbled across Print Design & Tech R US LTD via Google searching, last year October 2024. Since then I have used them another 3 times and we will continue to do so. Olivia and her team are fantastic, from the proofing, making a phone call to ensure the correct information. The quality of the labels are just what we have been looking for. Keep up the great work Ken
Brian Smith and his Manager and staff have been amazing with implementing our label designs and preparing the items. We receive regular updates on the progress of the printing stages and Brian is more than happy to make changes to our labels. highly recommend.
I agree with the many comments already written. They accomomated my slightly unusual order and even over the Thanksgiving holidays were very responsive and kept the ball rolling. Good job everyone! Norm
